How long can videos be, and in which resolution?

Free: videos up to 20 min in up to 720p. Pro: up to 2 h and 1080p. The file can be at most 400 MB (2 GB with Pro).

Where is the file stored?

Our server downloads and converts the video – a browser can’t do that on its own. We delete the finished file right after you download it, or automatically after a short time if you don’t. We keep nothing.

Can I download any video?

Accepted Answer

No. Only download content you own or have the author’s permission or a licence to download. Downloading other people’s videos may infringe copyright and YouTube’s Terms of Service – you are responsible for it.

Question 5

Why don’t playlists and live streams work?

Accepted Answer

One link = one video; for a link from a playlist we download just that video. A live stream in progress has no final length, so it can’t be downloaded – nor can private or age-restricted videos.
